This programme is designed for public and private sector workers to improve their knowledge, understanding and practice in delivering services to people with disabilities. The programme is based on the social model of disability and links to the requirements of the ‘General Duty’ and ‘Specific Duty’ of the Equality Act 2010.

Care Certificate - Underpinning Knowledge Training

This programme enables new employees starting a career in the Health and Adult Social Care Sectors to achieve the basic requirement to deliver care in the care sector. This is the standard set by Skills for Care.

Outcomes

New employees will receive in-depth knowledge training of all the topics in the Care Certificate Standard. As part of the programme they will be assessed on each topic to ensure they are able to apply the knowledge in practice. We use knowledge, case studies and discussions to add depth to the learning.

We can also assist organisations in assessing practice by training managers and senior staff on how to conduct observational assessments. 

This programme is suitable for all new employees starting work in the private and public adult care sector. These topics can also be run as refresher programmes for existing care workers.
